Wire Rope Clamp:
A wire rope clamp, also known as a wire rope clip or cable clamp. It is a metal device use to secure the end of a wire rope or to create a loop in the rope.
It consists of a U-shaped body with thread holes and a saddle that fits over the rope. The clamp is use in conjunction with a set of bolts and nuts to firmly grip the wire rope. This can preventing it from slipping or unraveling.
To use a wire rope clamp:
- Place the wire rope inside the U-shaped body of the clamp.
- Position the saddle over the rope, ensuring it fits snugly against the rope’s outer strands.
- Insert the bolts through the holes in the clamp and thread them into the nuts on the opposite side.
- Tighten the bolts evenly to securely hold the rope in place. Follow the manufacturer’s recommended torque specifications.
- Typically, multiple clamps are use to secure the rope, with a minimum number of clamps specified based on the rope diameter and application.
